Do you know what? Hmm...of course you don't really know what I am thinking about so perhaps I had better hurry up and tell you what ! The other day, I went for a little walk and my paws just happened to accidentally on purpose reach out and casually "pinch" a beautiful big white chrysanthemum that very conveniently was hanging over the side of a front garden fence in our local area! Well, in regards to the law, it was hanging over the top of the fence and looking down onto the Council's footpath so technically it does belong to the local community... I think... perhaps? It does belong to ratepayers and taxpayers doesn't it? Hmmm... well I am not really a rate or tax payer , I am just a Kiosk teddy BUT I can spell tax backwards , it is x...a...t... and so I think that entitles me to be able to enable my paw to reach out and accept from a flower stem the gift of a flower, don't you think?!
Anyway, I looked to the left, looked to the right, made sure no one was looking... quickly got the flower and scurried away as fast as my little teddy feet would take me! Oh, oh,... I just had an awful thought! Perhaps the owner of the house may have been looking through the front window curtains of their house and has seen me! How embarrassing! I feel a slight tinge of redness invading my brown fur now ! Will I be arrested ? I am not really a criminal teddy... just a flower liking teddy! I haven't heard any police sirens or seen any police cars parking in the Strathalan car park so I think I am safe! If the police do come and arrest me for stealing a flower, could I please rely on you to give me a good character reference. My good points are that I give a smile to everyone who comes into the Kiosk. Hmm... Perhaps my bad point to counteract that is I sometimes have vegemite marks on my face after eating vegemite on toast for breakfast ! But another good point is that I am a guard- bear for the kiosk when no one else is there . And I never( hardly ever !) leave any crumbs. I think my good points are okay. And... I always taste test all the biscuits , chocolates and breakfast cereals that the Kiosk sells so I can give my seal of approval on these types of items that the Kiosk sells! There is no finer recommendation to receive than to be given the Kiosk-Ted multi-coloured "tick of approval" ! I have to be always ready to give my expert teddy advice on these things you know!
But then, a sad thing happened. Yes, I am a bit disappointed. I put my special chrysanthemum in a glass of water ( I couldn't find a vase ! All the ones I did see had a hole in the bottom of them , and that is not too good when you put water in the vase! I didn't want to have water on the floor of the Kiosk! ) Then, I placed the vase beside my comfy chair.... and I started to sneeze... and sneeze... and sneeze... and... I had hay fever! Sooo , I ended up having to remove the flower and that stopped my sneezing session. I enjoyed looking at the flower for a little while though!
Well, I best be off now. I need to do some more official taste - testing!
Until next time,
Be wary of "pinching" flowers that don't belong to you!
Your friend,
Kiosk-Ted Strath
