"I'm
late, I'm late, for a very important date!" said the White Rabbit. Hmmm… I
am not a rabbit, and I not coloured white so that means I wasn't late to the
extra-special biggest teddy party of the whole year!! Hmmm… it was a New Year's
Eve party so does that mean that it was the biggest party of 2013 or the
biggest party of 2014? I was there when the clock struck midnight so, I just
don't know!
Anyway, it was a great fantastic party! I will perhaps
rephrase that, and say that it was a fun party when my teddy friends and I
actually arrived at the party! I don't know if you know, but if you don't know,
you will know now, because now I will tell you what you would like to know.(
Did you know that the word
"know" is my most favourite word of the day/ You did not know? Well,
now you do know!!) What you need to know
is… every New Year's Eve, a long black stretch limousine is sent out to collect
my teddy friends and I and take us to the party! It is a very plush, posh and classy
mode of transport! It even has a compartment where a box of Roses chocolates
sits that travellers can eat a chocolate as they ride along! And… the bestest
part is that we can sip peach nectar in glasses as we travel along in the car
waving out through the windows at everyone whilst we are being driven!
But… there was a slight "hiccup" on New
Year's Eve! It all happened when the limousine was coming to pick me up at the
Kiosk. I had just elegantly jumped into the limousine (after Clarrie the
Chauffer teddy had kindly opened up the side back door for me, then shut it for me! I felt so
grand!) and we had left the Strathalan property, when Clarrie heard a beep beep on his bear mobile phone.
Because he always obeys the road rules, he pulled over to the side of the road
and answered the call. You must never ever drive whilst speaking on your
phone! The phone call was from his very
nice wife Clarence. (You do not need to write on the front of an envelope if
sending a letter to them:"Mr. and Mrs. C and C Teddy, then the address. It
is quite okay just to write Mr. and Mrs. C. Teddy) Clarence and Clarrie have a
little daughter called Clara. It does
get a bit confusing at times, because their names sound quite similar! But… it
is okay because appaently when they were very little teddies, the first sound
that they learnt to make was "KL ". That is quite unusual because
phonetically "kl" is harder to say than "p b or t" … but
teddies are often quite intelligent! We
do give great bear hugs you know!! Anyway, Clarence rang Clarrie to say that
Clara was having so much fun trying out the new cricket bat that they gave her
for Christmas. She got a little bit too enthusiastic when showing her Mum how
she could swing the bat… when suddenly it flew out of her hand and went right through
the window! It landed on the outdoors ground and left a cricket bat sized
shaped hole in the glass window! There had been rain forecast for the evening,
and Clarence was very worried that the rain would enter the house and she would
be flooded! And, she had forgotten to buy any life jackets when she was last
doing her shopping at Coles! Well, she did put it on her shopping list, but
unfortunately, she crossed through the word "life jackets" with her
pen rather than the word:" tim tam" on her shopping list. This
resulted in 2 packets of tim tams instead of one, and no life jackets. Anyway, Clarence was quite panicky, and so
because Clarrie is a very kind and dutiful husband, he explained the
predicament to us and my teddy friends and I all encouraged him to make a
detour to his home on the way to taking us to the party . Soooo … we headed off
to his house! When we got there, Clarence and Clara were both quite upset, but
Clarrie calmed them down and said that "everything would be a-okay, or t
for teddy terrific" . Clarrie then calmly took out the damaged home window
and replaced it with the glass window of the front passenger's side of the
limousine. The window fitted well, and the limousine now had a great new source
of air-conditioning! No glass window! My teddies friends and I didn't need the
front side window because we were all sitting in the back seat. Solution found
and everyone was happy! Clarence and Clara were then going to go inside and
make some choc chip biscuits and have some ice cream with hundreds and
thousands on it to cheer them up. We them headed off to the New Year eve party!
It was such a fun night!! We danced and chatted and
giggled and sang (very melodiously!!) and reminisced and of course enjoyed
doing some eating! I don't know if you know Mr. Tedderley but he is an older
teddy gentleman bear friend of ours. Hmmm... I don't quite know how to say this
but if there is going to be someone who knocks something over or decides to
trip, it will be Mr. Tedderley! He always just laughs at himself and tries to
remedy the situation… and sometimes this makes it worse! He was passing beside
a big punch bowl of fruit juice and somehow he just happened to manage to catch
his paw on the corner of the tablecloth where the bowl was and the next thing
we knew was that his paw feet has been thoroughly washed by a quite sticky
fruity type of "water". The whole bowl of fruit juice had landed all
over his feet paws as well as the floor! He just laughed and Hillary the
hairdresser teddy quickly produced her handy hair dryer out of her handbag (
she always carries a portable hair dryer
in her handbag because you just never know when you may have to use
it!!) She then proceeded to use the hair dryer to blow dry his wet paws and the
ground.
We had the countdown to midnight with 10 seconds to
go. This year it was Kiosk items influenced! We called out:
Ten tasty tim tams
....nine nice bowls of Nutrigrain.....eight eggy eggs....seven super packets or tins of
soup ...six sensational shortbread cream biscuits....five favourite boxes of
Cabury Favourites chocolates... four flavoursome fruit jams to spread on
toast....three terrific Toby's Uncle breakfast cereals...two tins of tuna spread
and one packet of original omo powder... and then the New Year began!!
We were all getting quite sleepy so we thought that we
had better go home. Teddies never have t worry that their cars will run out of
petrol because our transport vehicles don't use petrol! We are very kind to the
environment! It also means that we never have to worry about shopper dockets at
Coles that save people 4cents off a litre! Petrol stations always seem to raise
the cost of petro at holiday times, so we are glad that we didn't have to worry
about the cost on New Year's Eve!
It was a very exciting night but I am very glad to be
home in my cozy chair in the Kiosk. I do like partying but it is also nice to have a little sleep . Goodnight!!
Until next time,
Be careful if
someone gives you a cricket bat for Christmas! And please watch out for when
little Clara becomes the opener ted batsman for the Tiny Teddies Cricket
Club!
Your friend, Kiosk-Ted
Strath.
Also simply known as
"Ted"!!
