Hooray! Hooray ! I am off to the Royal Melbourne Show today!!

The time is here! I'll give a big cheer! (Penny the Poet teddy will be so very, very proud of me with my rhyming words, don't you think?! In fact, I am quite proud of myself too! I am just a little teddy that did not study English literature at all when I went to teddy school, so perhaps I am a secret teddy poet? I did enjoy studying books with the titles: "Splish, splash ,splosh" which was such a fun book about the adventures of 3 little ducklings on a rainy day, and also "The Hungry Caterpillar' which was a book which had a hole right through the middle of the book! My teddy friends and I always had such great fun poking our tiny bear paws through the middle of the hole!)

I just can't wait to see all the little fluffy chickens! Sometimes when I have been to the Show, these cute little chickies have been painted pink and blue!! They did look very colourful! My friend Johnny, the joking teddy, made me laugh last time we went to the show, because as he was nearing the pavilion with the little chickens in it, he exclaimed in his most hungriest voice:" I think I will buy some chicken and chips to eat for lunch!"  I did NOT want to think about eating barbecued chicken just as I was going to see some cute little fluffy ones!

Ouch! Oh, I am so sorry to interrupt telling you about my eagerly awaited trip to the Show, but "ouch!" I have a very, very sore teddy arm! I hit my funny bone on a door handle…and I am NOT laughing!! I think that I will definitely set up a petition to ban the use of calling that bone a "funny bone" because if you hit it, you are definitely not chuckling loudly! It made me feel quite tingly from the top of my teddy shoulder right down to the tips of my little teddy paw finger!! I wonder if I will get a bruise? Hmmm…it may be hard to tell if I  have a bruise because of the colour of my fur! Will you sign my petition too?  You can either leave a "bear print" ,a "paw print" , a " handprint" , a nice elegantly written signature, or if you would prefer to not make it clear to recognise  your name you could just leave a doctor's squiggly signature!

Back to Show talk! I would be sooo scared to go on the Ferris Wheel or the Roller Coaster rides! Arvid and Astrid the 2 adventurous teddies say that it is so much fun to go on these rides ! Hmmm… I think that it would be a lot more safer, happier and enjoyable if I just stick to the firm ground and wandering the various pavilions and seeing the exhibits the Showgrounds contains!!

I will give you three guesses where I am going to have some nice morning or afternoon tea when I go to the Show. Or perhaps you only need one guess? I can't wait to hear what you have guessed so I will tell you straight away, this minute, this second, this milli second... I am sorry, but in the time I have written this the second is probably already elapsed! I will tell you right this instant… I am going to have scones, jam and cream at the CWA building! Yes, it will be very nice indeed! I do hope that I may be able to have a Twinings blend of tea, poured from a teapot into nice fine china tea cups with delicate flowers around the edges. Perhaps I won't be able to have fine china cups, because it is the Show you know, and they could get broken, chipped and dropped on the ground very quickly. Then the customers would feel very sad that they had dropped and broken a nice tea cup, and the CWA ladies would have to reassure them that it was okay, and then would have to get a  broom and make sure that no little pieces of china were on the floor in case a little child or a little teddy that was wearing no shoes stood on a piece and got it lodged in its foot. Whatever the tea is poured into will be most welcome. Mmmm… freshly made strawberry jam from real not pretend strawberries, farm fresh whipped cream, home baked scones straight from the oven and still piping warm…what more could a little teddy like me want to eat in the whole wide world!

Can I tell you a little secret? I can? Great! My little secret is…I like putting the balls into the clown faces! I really do! It always makes me giggle when I see the clowns with their open mouths turning from side to side! Anyone can play this game from the teeniest child that is lifted up in their Mum and Dad's arms so   that they can reach the clown's mouth right up to a 120 year old lady or man who has come to Show for a nice day's outing.

Well, I better be off now to get dressed for my day at the Show. Decisions! Decisions! What does a fashionable, trendy, up-to-date stylish teddy wear to the show? Do I wear a nice starched and ironed pair of overalls? Would a straw hat be acceptable attire? Do I wear my fancy paw socks which have little farmyard animals on them? I don't think that I need to ask for advice from my Fashion Consultant, Fiona the Fashionable teddy, I  just think that I will "go with the flow" and put on my comfy clothes so that I can just relax and enjoy my day out!

  Until next time,
