I have a teddy friend called Timmy. He really, really enjoys eating chocolate biscuits soooo much! Can you guess what his favourite chocolate biscuit is? I know it is very hard to guess, so I will put on some thinking music for you. "Round and round the garden like a teddy bear. One step, 2 steps, Tickle under there!!" (When I was a very, very little teddy my Aunt used to say that musical rhyme to me! She would draw circles on my teddy paw, then tickle me under my paw arms!! It was soooo funny!) Can you guess?? Yes, it is… tim tams!! He is known as Timmy the tim-tam timming teddy! ( But of course  I couldn't tell you what he was known as  at the start of my little talk to you because then I would have given away the surprise of working out what his favourite choc biscuit is!!)  In the very hot weather, he stores them in the fridge so as they don't melt. But... one day, he put them in his fridge and as he poked his teddy nose in to the fridge to see what  food items was there... he accidentally tripped and fell teddy nose first right into the fridge!  It is okay because the door didn't close shut on him but he accidentally unbeknownst to him touched and switched the temperature control on the fridge, and the lever went down to minus 200 degrees! (I agree with what you are thinking! I wondered too as to why a fridge would need to have a temperature that was minus 200 degrees but teddy fridges are quite uniquely manufactured in a factory in Teddysville that is a family owned business that has been handed down from one teddy generation to the next teddy generation.  These fridges keep food cold, and are very eco-friendly so I am not going to wonder why they would include this very, very low temperature! As long as the fridge keeps my food cold, I am a very happy little Kiosk Teddy! Oh, I must take the time to stop and mention now, that I am sorry but only teddies can own these specially manufactured teddy fridges. I tried very, very hard to obtain one for the Kiosk, but I admit that I picked the wrong time to put the fridge application in.  It was right at the time that Susanna the sickly teddy needed to have one  because the weather was very hot where she lived and she needed a good cold fridge to  keep her tablets and eye drops in so as they would not deteriorate   in the heat. Due to the teddy fridge union in Teddysville, teddy fridge tradesmen who build the teddy fridges are only allowed to work a certain number of hours a week on creating fridges. The time allotted for fridge making that week had finished by the time that Susanna's fridge had been made, so there was no time left for one to be made for the Kiosk. Perhaps I will put in another aapplication another time?)

Anyway, Timmy climbed out of the fridge and went skipping out of the kitchen. All of sudden, his teddy tummy announced very distinctly to him:"It is tim-tam time  Mr. Timmy!" and because Timmy is an obedient little teddy, he obeyed his tummy's "command" to have a tim-tam and went off to the fridge to get out the packet of these chocolate biscuits. He was NOT prepared for the sight that awaited him when he opened the fridge! There was a thick sheet of ice right over the front of the interior of the fridge, and every item in the fridge was frozen  rock hard! He would have hurt his teeth if he had made a cheese sandwich using the cheese!  The eggs that were in there were like solid rocks! And the milk would not have been very good for pouring on breakfast cereal!! I won't mention the state of the packet of tim-tams! Hmmm... I will mention it because  I am talking about Timmy the tim-tam timming teddy! The tim tams were not in an eatable state! Timmy quickly discovered the problem with the adjusted temperature control and changed it back to the normal cool temperature range. He grabbed his tim tams,   rushed to get a hair dryer, then aimed it at the tim tams! As quick as can be, the icy frozen tim tams melted, and Timmy was able to be back to eating his yummy tim tam snack again! His teddy tummy was very happy too!

Do you know what? You don't? You do? You don't know if you do or you don't? (I am getting myself very, very confused!!) I think that I had better tell you right this second so that you do know what!! Timmy was sooo excited the other day when he came visiting me at the Kiosk. He was literally bursting out of his teddy skin to tell me something that he had just discovered!! Hmmm... his fur skin was still attached so I do admit I was slightly exaggerating! But... he was still very bubbly excited!!  He wanted to tell me that he had discovered a recipe for Tim Tam Brownies!! Wow!! What a delicious way to eat these chocolate biscuits!! And... what was even more better was that he had cooked some of these brownies already and brought some for me to eat! Yummy and delicious were my words after I  had finished eating them!( No, I waited until I had finished eating because I was taught to never talk with your mouth full. There is an exception to that rule though if you are eating an apple and a pip gets caught in your mouth, and then you have to shout out "help!" whilst you are still biting the apple!. But... generally, you must wait until you have finished eating!

I will tell you Timmy's recipe as it is not a secret recipe handed down to the teddy generations from cook to cook! Well, maybe it is a secret recipe that no longer is secret now!!

TIMMY'S TIM TAM BROWNIE

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup plain flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 packet tim tam biscuits

Preheat your oven to 190C.
Melt butter and remove from heat. Stir through the cocoa and brown sugar until combined.
Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Next, blend in the flour and salt. Spoon a thin layer of batter into a lined dish. Arrange the tim tam biscuits on the top of this batter as desire. Cover the biscuits with the remainder of the mixture and smooth the top. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove, and when cooled, cut into squares serve with ice cream.

I think I might just go and get a tim tam off the Kiosk shelf now... happy choc biscuit eating!!

Until next time,

Be very careful when opening up your fridge that you don't fall head or nose first into it!

Your friend, Kiosk-Ted Strath.

              Also simply known as "Ted"!!
