Guess what!! You'll never, ever guess what so I'll tell you instead! We have a breakfast cereal snatcher in the Kiosk!! It's true! It's true!! I am not lying! I was asleep at night one evening, and when I woke in the morning, I heard Cornelius the Kellogg's Rooster crowing in the distance and there was a trail of cornflakes on the ground. I thought to myself: "That is weird, I didn't have cornflakes for supper last night." And so I quickly got out my trusty broom and swept up the cornflakes. The next day in the morning, I got up and my left paw landed on the ground and made a "snap" noise, then my right paw landed on the ground and made "crackle" noise then I took a step with both feet and it made a "pop" noise! Yes, there was a trail of rice bubbles this time!

That evening, I was feeling a bit nostalgic and decided to bring out my teddy bear family photo album, and have a look at some photos taken of my family and friends at different occasions. Oh…they did bring back so many, many happy memories. There were photos taken at the beach, and at birthdays, at picnics, at parks…those were the days but I still have lots and lots of fun nowadays too! I was looking at a picture of my dear Aunt Tabitha and dear Uncle Toby. They were such a lovely couple. They were childhood sweethearts right from the first time they saw each other when they attended their first Teddy Bear's picnic. Aunt Tabitha was leaning across the red checked tablecothed picnic bench to pick up a cheese sandwich, Uncle Toby was leaning from the other side of the bench to pick up a tomato sandwich, and it was just love at first sight…and they were so overwhelmed with the sight of each other that they each picked up a ham sandwich instead!  Which was a shame, because each of them have their favourite type of sandwiches, and you know how it is, sometimes you just want to eat a sandwich with the filling you like in it! But it was okay, because they were too busy having a big long chat together that they didn't take much notice of what they were eating! Aunt Tabitha let me in on a little secret though. Apparently every day for lunch, she always made a tomato sandwich for Uncle Toby and a cheese sandwich for herself, and she always made it extra top priority to take a plate of cheese and tomato sandwiches to every teddy bear picnic that she ever attended since then. They had such a lovely beautiful wedding! He wore a tuxedo and top hat , and she wore a lovely pearl necklace, a pretty pink ribbon in her hand , and carried a bouquet of forget-me-nots. And instead of throwing confetti, the minister asked everyone to throw tiny teddies biscuits, because it was less messy than confetti. The reception was held in a big gazebo, and guess what the meal was? It was the most yummiest, delicious , best tasting cheese and tomato sandwiches that you could ever taste in the whole wide world! Oh, I forgot to say that the bride, Aunt Tabitha, walked down the aisle to the song:"Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic!" Humphrey B. Bear was the chauffeur that drove her to the Church too!

Anyway, the very strange thing was, that the next morning, I discovered when I woke up that there was an empty sachet of Uncle Toby's honey and oats breakfast cereal on the floor! It was so very weird!!

Have I ever told you about Trevor, the triathlon Teddy? He is such a fit, athletic teddy! He has won so many, many triathlons, and he is always on the go swimming, and cycling and running, here..there..and everywhere! I like to keep fit too, but I am not as energetic as he is! I sometimes do a little bit of a jog around the Strathalan grounds, with my blue sneakers on my paws, my teddy earphones and music player attached to my ears, and a gold and green track suit on. Perhaps you may have seen me? And I have been known to do a bit of cycling, and have only fallen off  the bike a million times, which is so much better than falling off a bike a million and one times!! Trevor let me in on a very closely guarded secret! Would you like to hear it? Yes? Okay, draw near and I'll tell you. He eats a bowl of Nutrigrain cereal every day!! And that is what gives him the energy he needs for the triathlon!!  What a grand secret! You have to put milk on the cereal too, to keep your calcium levels up. We don't want any broken teddy bones!!Hmm…well perhaps us teddies are soft and don't have bones. Hmmm…well we still all need to have milk because it tastes good and you need it to soften the Nutrigrain nuts and bolts and ….and…and…well you just have to do what Doctors are always telling you to make sure you have enough calcium!!

Well, as unlikely as it would seem, I suppose you may have a tiny guess that the next day, I found in the kiosk some Nutrigrain nuts and bolts cereal in the corner of the Kiosk! I was starting to seriously consider giving Senior Detective Sergeant Major Constable Inspector (he has so many titles that I sometimes lose count of them all!) Bearlock Holmes a call to ask his opinion of this quite puzzling breakfast cereal situation!

I received a very nice letter today when Percy the teddy Postie delivered my mail. It was from Wilma teddy bear. She was telling me all the teddy family news and what was going on in her life. It was great to catch up on the news. She was the one who told me how much she enjoys spreading butter on her weetbix and eating them as a  snack any time of the day. Of course, she also enjoys eating weetbix for breakfast too. Wilma likes weetbix and wombats and wearing wellington boots and watermelon and water lilies and wall flowers. She was very glad that her Mum called her Wilma because she likes everything to that starts with "w"!

Do you know what happened when I got up the day after I received her letter? You will never guess, but I found little pieces of a broken weetbix on the Kiosk floor too!

Okay, this is all getting a little bit silly, I must take decisive action! I will put a brave look on my face, and stay up ALL night and try to have a sneaky peek at who this "cereal-leaving-in the Kiosk " person is. This could be a very long and tiring night, but someone has to do! I will gladly give up my night's sleep to help the Kiosk! I will …. perhaps I'll have a little nap this afternoon, just to be prepared for tonight. Zzzzz

That's better! I feel so much refreshed after that sleep and have boundless energy to stay awake tonight! Of course, no-one would mind if I had a jam tart and a snowball to eat whilst I was waiting for the cereal -leaving person would they?! No, I didn't think that they would mind.

Oh, it's a lovely starry night, with no sign of clouds or rain, just a big bright full moon. I wonder what will happen.

Well, to my huge surprise, at 4a.m. I heard a little rattle on the Kiosk door and then Tania the "Temperature Tinkerer Teddy" entered the Kiosk!  I exclaimed "hello Tania" and she was startled to see that I was awake! She very quickly explained to me that each morning she tried to be as "quiet as a mouse" and not wake me up, as she entered the Kiosk to have her breakfast. She brings her own breakfast cereal with her as well as a bowl and a little packet of milk with her each day and just sits here in the Kiosk to enjoy eating.  She told me that she has to catch the train to do her most important job, and because she needs to get going early, she needs to have her breakfast at a place nearby the Macleod train station!  She enjoys having a variety of cereals, in fact she has a different cereal for every day of the week! Would you like to know her most important job? It is…turning on the heater when it is very chilly in the morning, or turning on the air conditioner or electric fans when it has been a warm night, at all the teddy schools all over the suburbs! Then all the little teddies and their teachers can enjoy studying and teaching without feeling too cold or hot. She catches the train to each suburb, jumps off, does her "temperature tinkering" job, then jumps back on to catch the train to another station! Tania tries so hard to not leave any mess but it is dark at that time of the night/morning and she can't always see any cereal pieces that she may have left on the floor. I was sooo relieved to find out what was happening, and assured her that she was so very welcome to use the Kiosk as her home for eating her breakfast. I would very gladly clean up any cereal that she may have dropped.

So…if you happen to be up at around 4:30 a.m. and see Tania heading for the Kiosk  please give her a little wave! I will probably still be asleep. (but now that I know Tania is popping in to the Kiosk each morning for a short time, each night before going to sleep I make sure that I leave out  a little cheerful vase of flowers to brighten the start of her day.  And I leave a little, comfy, brightly coloured, soft cushion for her to rest her back on whilst eating her breakfast.

Until next time,

Enjoying eating your breakfast cereal !!

                         Your friend, Mr. Kiosk-Ted Strath

                       Also simply known as "Ted"!!
