I had the most dreadfullest experience the other day! It gave me such a fright! I felt quite shaky after it! Oh, I am sorry! I must apologise most profusely! My manners are not with me today! I haven't said "hello" to you, I have only been talking about myself, which is not at all acceptable according to the well respected rules of teddy talking protocol. You must always say : "Hello" or " Good Morming" or enquire "How are you today?" when you meet someone. It is a kind courtesy don't you think? Milly the Manners teddy ( her middle names are Molly Mandy) always teaches every young teddy these things about speech manners. Milly is a very nice teddy! She can even recite : "The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain " !! She is not so good at reciting tongue twisters though! She attended Oxford Uni, and did a doctorate on Teddy manners. The most funniest thing though was that when she wore her mortarboard hat to the graduation ceremony, she had a big tomato stain on the side of the hat! She didn't discover it until after the ceremony though! She was sooooo embarrassed! The tomato stain occurred, because she was quite concerned that she may feel quite hungry during the graduation ceremony. These types of ceremonies can linger on for a long time! And... you don't want to get sooo hungry that you faint from not having any food inside you! Also your stomach might become a touch grumbling! Soooo..... Milly made herself a nice tomato sandwich to eat before the ceremony. She said that it was made from her very tasty and juicy backyard grown tomatoes. Well, it was so juicy that some of the tomato must have unbeknownst to her slipped out and landed on the mortarboard when she wasn't looking! The light bulb in the room where she was getting changed into her graduation gown had gone out. It was the new type of bulb that is meant to be good for the environment but lasts hardly any time and then stops giving out light! Oh, I do think about the "good old days" when light bulbs lasted for years and years giving out light. We applaud now if the new ones last a few months! Anyway, Milly didn't see the stain because the light was so dark! Oh well. She enjoyed her tommies sandwich and her graduation ceremony went off well apart from the tomato stain!
But anyway, I will now say "hello" to you!
Now, back to my not very nice experience! Would you like to hear about it? I will tell you! I.... fell into the bird bath! It is a long story! It would be tiring if I told you all about it, and I don't have any spare pillows to put under your head if you fall asleep! So, I will just tell you the short story edition! I was happily skipping along the pathway, singing a little song to myself, and enjoying the sunshine. I was thinking about lots of nice things, when the next thing I knew was that my teddy nose was in the water in the bird bath! And my teddy nose was sooooo cold. ( The little birds weren't very impressed that I had "invaded" their territory too! )I managed to extricate myself out of the bird bath, but I still feel a little shivery thinking about it now! I got out my favourite bath towel when I got back to the Kiosk and dried myself down. I made a nice cup of tea ( I wouldn't want to make a bad cup of tea! ) got myself a tim tam, and I calmed myself down.
Well, I had best be off now. I will say a kindly goodnight to you. I do have nice manners you know!
Until next time,
Say hello to everyone to meet... give a little wave to greet.....rest in a comfy seat.... dance to life's beat! ( I am a poet today! )
Your friend,
Kiosk Ted Strath
