I looked soooo trendy! I felt sooo very stylish! I was a very fashionable teddy, you know! Would you like to know why? I am sure that you would like to know so I will tell you! I got issued with my official B.E.S. uniform last week! The overalls were coloured fluorescent orange! And... I also got given a very hard helmet hat to wear too. It was coloured fluorescent green!  Oh, I suppose you are wondering what B.E.S. stands for? It means the Bears Emergency Service. It is the teddy equivalent of the human S.E.S. Us teddies are always ready to be on hand ( or paw) if there is a bad storm or fire and there is a call out for our help! Sunshine, rain, hail, skeet, snow or even  if the colours of a rainbow decide to fall off and hit someone on the head, we will be there to help get things back to normal!
All the teddy B.E.S. members carry with them their bear mobile phones, and if there is an emergency, the teddy bears picnic music dial tone is played onto our phones, followed by two sharply uttered announcements of: "Hey ho! Hey ho!" ( This phone  emergency alert system was put into place by a good friend of us teddies, called Donald the Dwarf. He is a good friend of Snow White and the seven dwarfs, and often hears them say: " Hey ho! It's off to work we go! "So, he adapted it to suit us teddies from the B.E.S. ! He had to pay a copyright fee, but it is a deal where you pay once and you own  the licence to use the phrase for a lifetime. Hmm... I am not sure whose lifetime it would apply to, but I won't ask any questions and not require any answers!)
It wasn't very nice the other day, when all the rain and stormy weather arrived!  I received the call to attend a teddy home where a roof had got a hole in it because of the heavy rain, and the water had all leaked in! It was like a flood! Because I am Kiosk Ted, I was in charge of making the cups of tea and coffee and getting packets of nice biscuits to give to the teddies who live at the home, to try to calm their concerns and shakiness. It is not a nice experience to see your house flooded in! I hope that my drink making and biscuits giving helped them a little bit. I think it did! Larry the Ladder climbing teddy got up onto the roof, and was able to mend the roof, whilst the teddy twins Marcus and Mark the Mopper teddies  were in charge of mopping up the water from the floor. Dougal the Directions teddy was in charge of... giving directions to everyone! In a very short time, the water was all cleaned up, the roof repaired , and we all had a little dance to some water music that was being played on the stereo!
I feel that as a member of the B.E.S. I have a HUGE responsibility on my little teddy shoulders! But, I do pledge to serve to the best of my teddy ability! And of course, I am very much alert at all times in case an emergency  happens at Strathalan!
Well, I had best have a little rest now in case I am called out on a tea/coffee and biscuit giving emergency soon!
    Until next time,
Please know that you are in safe paw hands with the B.E.S. on alert!
       Your friend,

                Kiosk Ted Strath
