Stretch Teddy arms Left! Stretch Teddy arms right! Then up... then down! Wiggle teddy paw fingers! Oh, you are probably wondering what I am doing?! Would you like to know? I am sure that you really, really would like to know, so I will be very happy to tell you!  Me, Kiosk Ted Strath, is going to be a cricket umpire this cricket season! Yes, it's true! I am the official umpire for the Maclonia Teddy Cricket League! ( it's a combination of teddies who live in Macleod and Watsonia! ) I am getting my teddy arms ready for when I need to signal " four" and " six" runs! I also need to get fit so that I can raise my finger to show that the batsman is out!  You have to be extra fit to be a teddy cricket umpire you know!
I am always very conscious of the sun awareness fact that I don't want to get sunburnt or get any skin cancers from the sun. But... it is a little known fact that it is quite difficult to apply sun cream on teddies because of our fur! It does get quite sticky and messy! I like to apply fluorescent colours to my nose and face, and it does look a bit of a mess of rainbow colours! But I am showing a great Sun Smart  role model that is the main thing!
Did you know that Brett the brilliant Batsman bear once scored 188 runs in a match! He was soooooo exhausted after getting all those runs! We even heard his  little teddies legs actually give a little " I'm tired" moan when he had reached 150 runs! It was soooo exciting when he hit the 100 runs mark! He stopped at the wicket, took off his baggy orange with polka dots and yellow stripes cap, and waved very muchly towards the stands where his Mum, Dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, his best friend's aunt's sister's nephews's neighbour's daughter in law and his pet canary was sitting! He had a tear in his glass teddy eye because he was so  happy! I do hope that someone took a picture of the moment on their mobile phone, to keep the memory of the very auspicious occasion!
Brittany the Bowler bear is so very good at getting people out! She is called  a "stinner" ! This term means that she is a spinner that is a teddy bear ! She never, ever aims the ball at the batsman's head... but one eat little Jiimmy the junior teddy, decided to have a banana for a snack whilst he and his teddy mates were playing cricket on the pitch. He had read in the Teddy health course that he was studying at teddy school that bananas are good for little teddies health and gave energy. Sooo.... he thought that he would eat a banana whilst fielding there. A ball came flying towards him, so he just threw the banana peel on the ground and forgot about it.Hmmm.... Brittany didn't notice it later that day when she was bowling!  Yes... you guessed right! She slipped on the peel, and the cricket ball escaped out of her left hand ( she is left handed ) and ended up hitting Warren the Wicket keeping teddy in the head! He has such a big bump and bruise on his head!  Gerry the Greengrocer teddy and Valma the vegetable growing teddy both rushed out to Warrren carrying frozen peas to place on the bump! It was to help with the swelling.... But the peas were so very cold that he went soooo shivery inside that Clara the Chef teddy then had to quickly make up a batch of her world teddy famous secret recipe Chilli dish to warm his inside up  ! No one knows the secret recipe for the chilli , but it is certainly a very hot dish to eat! Wow!   You need a glass of water to drink after eating it!  It certainly made Warren forget about the bump on his head for a little while!
Well, I had better practice saying "Lunchtime lady and gentlemen teddies" and "Teatime" because I wouldn't want the cricketing teddies to get too hungry! Playing sport does give you an appetite!
In fact, just thinking about it has made me hungry!  I think I might "raid" the Kiosk shelves ....( I promise I will replace what I eat!)
     Until next time,

                Howzat!!!
           Your friend Kiosk Ted Strath
