T-Aussie T-Aussie T-Aussie, Oi..Oi..Oil..!!!! Yes, it is nearly Australia Day, and us teddies like to add our own part of our teddy name to the start of the word Aussie! We add a T and leave out "Eddy" , who is the egg eating teddy! Eddy likes eating eggs cooked all sorts of ways! He likes fried eggs, scrambled, poached, boiled, omelettes,... any way! He would eat them for breakfast, lunch and tea! But he doesn't because he is very health conscious that he doesn't want to raise his teddy cholesterol levels. Teddy doctor checks his cholesterol levels each year, by taking a stuffing test. He can't take a blood test, because teddies don't have blood. But we do have stuffing inside, so Doctor Teddy puts an injection in to our stuffing instead. Eddy also likes eating chocolate eggs at Easter time too!
Anyway, I am soooo excited that Australia Day will soon be here! I am going to eat some lamingtons to celebrate! But...there is a little problem when eating lamingtons! I get coconut all over the place! Does that happen to you? I have to get my little vacuum and clean up all the coconut from the Kiosk floors! I get into such a mess! One time I tried to cook Anzac biscuits. I will never do that again! The biscuits mixture spread all over the baking tray and turned into big frisbees! It might have been fun to throw the frisbee Anzacs outside, but I really wanted to eat them instead! Also, the golden syrup made my fur paws sooo sticky! It was quite a gooey cooking time!
I have a friend called Katie. No, she is not a teddy! Well, I must be truthful and say that I do have a teddy friend called Katey and she is the Kite flying teddy! She really enjoys flying kites in the air! She likes all the colourful patterns on them! She runs and runs with them in her hands, and they fly high up in the air. They do sometimes get a bit stuck in the branches of the trees, but with a quick yank they get untangled! But... back to my friend called Katie. Her full name is Katie Kookaburra. She laughs a lot and a lot and a lot and a lot! She is coming to see me on Australia Day. I think that she will bring her favourite jokes book with her! She is quite a funny friend to have. Her motto is: "Never ever laugh AT anyone, always laugh WITH them! " She is a quite cheery bird ( I typed that word five times because I kept typing cherry instead of cheery! I don't think that kookaburras have red cherry feathers! And I also don't think that they turn red if they are embarrassed or angry! )
I wonder if Katie will bring her friend Edgar the echidna with her when she visits me? Katie and Edgar used to be bestest friends, but then Katie slipped on a banana peel and landed on top of Edgar! His spikiness hurt her feathers! They are now no longer bestest friends, but are still good friends. I think when Katie's soreness from the spikes eases they will be back to being bestest friends.
Well, I had best be saying goodbye for now. I think I will listen to the song :"We are Australian"
Until next time,
Hoo roo! See you later mate! Cheerio!
Your friend,
Kiosk Ted Strath
